This week’s Products Spotlight focuses on Tiewell Weed Dub. It’s been around for ages, those of you who know it and use it understand just how effective it is for tying weed flies for Luderick. And just recently, a new colour was added to the Tiewell Weed Dub range to fill the slightest of gaps in colour hues between Green and Chartreuse. With Fluoro Green now added to the range, there is about every shade of weedy goodness you can hope for on offer, and plenty of shades in between when you mix two or more dubbings together.

With the current direction taken under new ownership of Tiewell, we are seeing a range of new and innovative products being released to the market in a slow, but steady rollout. And, of course, the continuation of certain Tiewell products that have been long coveted by fly tyers around Australia for many years now. Weed dub is certainly one of those products, offering a certain translucent look and movement in the water that mimics weed better than anything else on the market. There are several colour on offer, being Green, Olive, Brown, Chartreuse, Fluoro Green and a Mix that incorporates the first three colours.

TIEWELL WEED DUB LUDERICK SEASON 2019 FLYTYING MATERIALS AUSTRALIA TROUTLORE

You can find all the colours of Tiewell Weed Dub right here, along with other articles and a very popular weed fly starter pack that we have been offering for some time now. Similar products to Weed Dub that have also proven very popular are Hareline Ice Dub, FTD Artic Snow and Spirit River Diamon Brite. These all come in a range of colours that work very well for Luderick weed flies, but all have a finer consistency to Weed Dub, which offers a wider cut and allows for some light to pass through the actual material. Of course, the only way to conclude which material works best is to let the fish decide.
