Well, we’re back into it for another year of tying flies. It’s a great start to the year and a great honour to be offered a seat at the vise as the guest fly tyer for January with the monthly Anchored Outdoors Fly Tying Class.

I partnered up with Anchored Outdoors when April Vokey first launched the monthly fly tying classes, to help Australian fly tyers find the materials they needed for these classes. And we’ve seen some big names and great flies tied over the past few years. Now I’ll be adding to that arsenal with the Stickie 3.0 nymph.

All Anchored Outdoors members are invited to join in on the night (or late morning for us in Australia) via Zoom and tie along with me. Plus, members can go back and watch the class at any time with all classes recorded and made available in the members area of the Anchored Outdoors website.

If you’re not already a member of this great fly fishing and fly tying community, now is the perfect time to join. You can find the details by clicking the link on the front page of the Troutlore website, or, to make it easier, you can CLICK THIS LINK RIGHT HERE!

As always, TieYourOwn kits have been made available on the Troutlore website for this fly, so you can have all the materials ready to go. It’s one kit that people have been asking for, for some time. So I am glad to be able to get it happening in line with this excellent opportunity to learn how to tie the Stickie  3.0. It’s a fly that has brought myself and plenty of other fly anglers great success in the past couple of years. Whilst I have a YouTube video available going through the pattern, this class will go further in depth into the technique, the design and the methods of fishing the fly to great success.

I hope to see you guys in this or another Anchored Outdoors Fly Tying Class some time soon.
