As most of you would have noticed for the last couple of months, my website has been suspiciously absent from the worldwide interweb platform. Many of you would have seen the notice on Instagram and still clicked the link to end up on a maintenance page and go no further. Well, it was decided at the start of the year that a total overhaul of my website and blog was well overdue and 2016 was the time to do it.

So, some space was cleared in the tying desk to make way for the laptop and the old blog and store was pulled down. Over the past couple of months I have been busy rebuilding this almost every evening, whenever I have a spare moment. The old blog was been wiped clean off the face of the earth and I have been slowly putting my thoughts to this new set of ramblings that I casually call a blog. Beyond that, I built a website that almost made it co completion by early February only to decide that the design and workflow it offered was just rubbish and so I scrapped that entire build for yet another design before I even got to launch.

Where this leaves me is in the throws of my third website build to get it somewhere close to what I am really after and a launch date that is now not too far off. A new shop is now running with much simpler navigation, and better selection of products as they continue to arrive weekly. Once launched, this will not be the end of it as I still continue to have new products arriving every couple of weeks, so the shop will continue to get updated regularly. This also goes for the hand tied flies available for sale. With so much time spent working in the site rebuild, and still trying to hold down a day job and find time to get out on the water regularly, I haven’t been able to add anywhere near the amount of flies to the shop as I would have liked. SO, stay tuned as that side of the business will continue to grow each and every week after the site is launched.

Plus, there’s all sorts of other goodies coming along with the new site. A regularly updated Instagram feed is now in there, along with YouTube and Facebook and Twitter and all those other necessary evils in today’s modern society of connectivity. So, there is plenty going on with the new Troutlore site, hence the reason for this extended absence. And plenty more is planned for the coming months after the launch. So, watch this space!
