Description

Pat’s Rubber Legs was originally created by Idaho guide Pat Bennett. This variant of the stonefly imitation is a simple but extremely effective fly with rubber legs. It makes an excellent point fly in a two fly rig.  Great for well oxygenated water, fish deep, dead drift and swing. The rubber leg’s movement in the water is often the difference between finding action and flogging the water.

Stonefly patterns are effective year-round because of their multi-year life cycle. Even after the adults have hatched for the season, there are plenty of immature nymphs living in the substrate. The same goes for our Pat’s Rubber Legs Nymph Variant. This differs to the original with the use of Variegated chenille for added texture in the body. Further to that, we include, a gold bead head for a little shine and wrap it all on an Ahrex curved sedge hook.

Supplied in lots of six (6) flies per hook size.

Of course, if you want to tie this pattern yourself, Troutlore offers a complete materials kit for this pattern. You can find the ‘TieYourOwn’ kit for Pat’s Rubber Legs Nymph Variant here.

All flies sold at Troutlore are tied by hand in Australia by Rob from Troutlore, or designated tyers for specific patterns who are noted in the descriptions. This Pat’s Rubber Legs Nymph Variant pattern is tied on quality Ahrex hooks and using the best materials. This is a great addition to any fly box for all times of the the stream and lake season.
