Description

This is a complete tying kit with all the materials required to tie 24 flies in this Pat’s Rubber Legs Nymph Variant pattern. Plus, there will be lots left over, so additional hooks and beads can be added at a later date to get even more flies from these materials.

Pat’s Rubber Legs was originally created by Idaho guide Pat Bennett. This variant of the stonefly imitation is a simple but extremely effective fly with rubber legs. It makes an excellent point fly in a two fly rig.  Great for well oxygenated water, fish deep, dead drift and swing. The rubber leg’s movement in the water is often the difference between finding action and flogging the water.

Stonefly patterns are effective year-round because of their multi-year life cycle. Even after the adults have hatched for the season, there are plenty of immature nymphs living in the substrate. The same goes for our Pat’s Rubber Legs Nymph Variant. This differs to the original with the use of Variegated chenille for added texture in the body. Further to that, we include, a gold bead head for a little shine and wrap it all on an Ahrex curved sedge hook.

Included in this pack are the following :

Ahrex FW530 Nymph Hooks #10

Hareline Variegated Chenille – Orange/Black

Veevus 6/0 Thread – Black

Grizzly Bug Legs – Olive

Tungsten Beads 5/35 – Gold
