Description

This is a complete tying kit with all the materials required to tie 36 flies in this Peccary 718 Stone pattern, plus there will be lots left over, so additional hooks, beads and bug bands can be added at a later date to get even more flies from these materials. The Peccary 718 Stone is a twist on a favourite pattern of mine for getting deep on big drop-offs and slow pools when there are stoneflies about. The combination of Firehole Stones and Firehole Bug Bands gives the fly plenty of weight and a great natural shape that gets to the strike zone fast. And the peccary body offers a brilliant naturally segmented look that doesn’t offer any resistance when sinking like other materials can.

This patter is the perfect alternative when you want a smaller sized, more natural looking option to the standard 718 Stone.

Included in this pack are the following :

Firehole Sticks – 718 #14

Firehole Stones – Almond Joy 3/32″

Firehole Bug Bands – Gold 7/64″

Hareline Fine Rubber Legs – Brown

Peccary Flank

Veevus 6/0 Thread – Brown

Spirit River Antron Dubbing – Hare’s Ear

All materials are also available to purchase as individual items in the Troutlore store. Just click on the product above to link through to the individual product listings. There are a range of other packs available in the Troutlore store, matching up to flies that are also available for sale, so please feel free to browse and find one that suits your needs.

We recommend using Loon Thin UV Fly Finish for added strength and that great sheen to the body of these flies. This UV resin and UV torches are sold separately to the materials kits. And of course, we stock a big range of fly tying tools all kept in stock and ready to ship to Australian fly tiers. Aside from all the Hareline products, we carry plenty of brand name tools. These can be found in the  Tools Category of the Troutlore Flytying Store. If you can’t find a product you are specifically looking for, get in touch. We will see if it can be sourced, and kept in stock. Plus, you can keep up to date with new releases through our newsletter and social media outlets.
