Description

Veniard Pheasant Tail Feathers are full center tail feathers, bleached to a light tone then dyed. This process produces very bright coloured center tails with out losing the hooks off the fibres which knit the tails together. Pheasant tail feathers can be used for legs and tails on insect imitations. Barbs are soft and you can tie knots on them to imitate insect’s leg joints.

Pheasant Tails are an absolute must have on every fly tying bench. I don’t think I ever sit down to tie patterns without going to the pheasant tails at some point. Obviously, these are the essential element in the Pheasant Tail Nymph pattern, but you can and will use them in a wide range of patterns for textured bodies, wing casing and tails.

Veniard Pheasant Tail feathers are selected for a certain length and quality to ensure the fibers are long enough for fly tying applications. These are available dyed in several essential colours for Australian fly tying needs.

Veniard Pheasant Tail feathers are packaged with TWO (2) feathers per pack. Feather length is approximately 40 – 50 cm. Barb length is approximately 3 – 5 cm.
