Description

The humble Stick Caddis is a major staple in the diet of stillwater trout and a pattern that is deadly not only in lakes, but in rivers as well. Whilst a relatively simple pattern at first glance, this very realistically imitates the natural cased caddis as it swims up through the water column, making it a very effective fly to have in an fly box.

When the fish are being stubborn, this is often one of the few patterns that will get a take. Backwater stalking on big rivers becomes a whole new game when you have a few of these at the ready. And when it’s early in a hatch, a Stick Caddis trailed behind the dry can often get a strike as the dry goes unnoticed.

Supplied in lots of six (6) flies per hook size.

Of course, if you want to tie this pattern yourself, Troutlore offers a complete materials kit for this pattern. You can find the ‘TieYourOwn’ kit for Stick Caddis here.

All flies sold at Troutlore are tied by hand in Australia by Rob from Troutlore, or designated tyers for specific patterns who are noted in the descriptions. This pattern is tied on quality Ahrex hooks and using the best materials, the Stick Caddis is a great addition to any fly box for all times of the the stream and lake season.

Sizes showing as “In Stock” represent flies that are ready to ship immediately. Any sizes showing as “Available to Backorder” will be tied after completed payment of order. This usually requires a 5-7 day turnaround depending on the current tying queue. Your complete order will be shipped as one after all flies have been tied. We will contact you is further unforeseen delays arise with a fly order.
