Description

The Ozzy Native Flies Frog Popper is a really innovative design that takes full advantage of the new PR378 from Ahrex. NOW, this new model does is is incorporates a clever design to join and fan out two of these hoods to increase the chance of connecting properly when a big cod boofs your surface fly. This reduces the chance of the hook being bitten flat in the fish’s mouth and having it slide out sideways without connecting. This double hook model has proven itself in the past 12 months of testing on the water by Ben, myself and clients of Ben’s. So now it is time to make this proven pattern available to everyone!

The Frog Popper is Built from the bones of Ben’s go-to surface pattern, the Cod Popper, this version sees an extended body coming out from the shank over the inverted hook point of these special hooks. The fly is tied with splayed legs to imitate a frog, and with a larger body section.

The best part of this great surface pattern is that rides hook point up after the first strip thanks to the hook’s design. The Ozzy Native Flies Frog Popper is a surface searching pattern that has provoked savage takes from our Murray Cod. Always keep a tight line and stay ready to strip strike when the water explodes.

At Troutlore, we are very proud to have teamed up with Ben from Ozzy Native Flies to be able to offer his fly designs to Australian fly fishers. These are patterns that Ben has developed and proven time and time again to deliver results. These are not ‘pretty’ flies designed for social medial “likes”. These are real fishing flies that work. You can be confident when casting any flies from Ozzy Native Flies that they have delivered results plenty of times before being made available here.
