Description

McFlylon is a bright, wavy polypropylene yarn made by McFlyfoam Products. It is great for many fly tying applications that require a light, floating material. It is also available in more colors than regular spooled polypro yarn. And better still, it doesn’t come on a tiny card, you get a big hank of McFlylon to get you through a lot of dry fly wings per pack. A lot!

McFlylon by McFlyfoam Products is especially suited for strike indicators, parachute posts, and underwings for stoneflies and other large terrestrials. McFlylon has just the right amount of sheen to give it just a little bit of sparkle. It works great for both freshwater and saltwater fly patterns.

We love this stuff! It’s not just a material for strike indicators. it is the ultimate winging material for big, bad and ugly dry flies. You can’t tie a Chubby Chernobyl without McFlylon, it just wouldn’t be the same. This stuff comes in handy for all manner of terrestrial patterns. From tiny wings on ant and spent spinner patterns right up to big cicadas. The gentle sheen, and the manner in which it floats makes it ideal for any winged dry fly.
