Description

Hareline calf tail, also known as Kip Tail, this is essential for tying anything from split-wing drys such as Wulffs, to bonefish patterns, and smaller flies requiring a finer, more crinkly hair than bucktail. In a way, it is sits somewhere in between possum tails and buck tails for texture, whilst being more along the same fiber length as that of the possum tail, perhaps slightly shorter.

This is a 1st quality, Hareline Dubbin Calf Tail. Great for parachute style flies with pole wings and an absolute must for the Ausable Bomber pattern or variations thereof. I even use it for wings on stimulators and caddis imitations at times, as a replacement for deer or elk hair when you want something with less mass and a little more scruffy looking.

These calf tails are approximately 10 inched in length, although size can vary being a natural product. Available in a range of colours, all dyed off of the natural white, to allow you to bring this material into a range of saltwater and native patterns that required more vibrant colour options.

Of course, if you want to create all sorts of natural looking streamer fly patterns, then our ever growing range of natural hairs and furs is the ideal place to start.
