Martin's Minnow is a deceptively simple minnow jig pattern designed by Huddersfield’s own Martin Smith in the UK. Created for the purpose of targeting trout, it has since proved itself for a range of other species including bass, redfin, estuary perch and, of course, bream! It'll certainly catch other species too, and is definitely worth trying for any predatory gamefish.

This fly works well for Bream, Estuary Perch, Bass, Trout and just about any other species that will eat a fry or baitfish a pattern.

Martin's Minnow is tied with a tungsten bead on a Gamakatsu Jig Hook, for deep presentations, with the hook point riding up.

Now sold as single units per hook size. Buy as few or as many as you like!

Of course, if you want to tie this pattern yourself, Troutlore offers all the quality materials for this and many other patterns.

Rivulet Flyfishing offer a unique range of Australian made flies tied in Tasmania by Simon Ellis. OK, so we call the Australian made, even though he's a pom, but Simon's been here long enough to earn an honorary title.

They are well renowned for their high level of consistency and quality, and every fly in the range is a proven fish catcher. Tied using quality hooks, beads and materials, this range of flies is sure to impress.

Sizes showing as “In Stock” represent flies that are ready to ship immediately. We keep all Australian made flies in our range in stock and ready to ship. Any sizes showing as “Out of Stock” can be tied after completed payment on special order. Get in touch via email to make this happen. This usually requires a 10-14 day turnaround depending on the current tying queue at Rivulet Flyfishing. Your complete order will be shipped as one after all flies have been tied. We will contact you is further unforeseen delays arise with a fly order.

Of course, if you want to create all sorts of natural looking streamer fly patterns, then our ever growing range of natural hairs and furs is the ideal place to start for something different to the synthetic option. Don’t just settle on looking in the Hare & Rabbit category when you’re chasing quality winging and body furs, check out the Specialty Species Category of the Troutlore Flytying Store as well. Plus, we keep a great selection of Calf and Bucktail as well, in a big range of colours to take care of your freshwater and saltwater flytying needs. If you can’t find a product you are specifically looking for, get in touch and we will see if it can be sourced, and kept in stock.
