UNI Thread

UNI thread is a standard choice for many fly tyers, especially those who don't like flossy threads. UNI thread is strong for its diameter and doesn't fray easily. UNI thread has a light waxing that grips materials well and reduces wax build-up in the bobbin tube.

UNI thread is suitable for small to large dry and wet flies. Different sizes of UNI thread are recommended for different fly sizes: 

  • 3/0: Good for larger flies 
  • 6/0: Good for big and medium-sized flies 
  • 8/0: Good for small flies
