New Threads from The Fly Smith now available

This week saw our latest product line land in Australia, with a ranfe og threads from The Fly Smith over in the the US of A. This new line of fly tying threads comes from the bench of Brian Smith, whom many of you will know as @_tiesflies_ on Instagram, a chap who puts together a very nice fly, and many a video to suit.

The stocked range includes a 52 Denier Nylon thread, 52 Denier GSP, 105 Denier GSP and a 300 Denier underbody thread. These are all superb quality fly tying threads, and a range of products that we are excited to offer to our customers, and to also use in our fly tying tutorials.

The nylon is finer than any other we carry, yet it is surprisingly strong. So, far we have only been able to break it when forcing unwarranted pressure on the tread, there have been no accidental breakages in the tying process, even when cinching down deer and elk hair. That is a big plus for a thread that is so fine. Great strength, and no build up of unnecessary bulk!

The GSP comes in Black or White for the 102 Denier option. However, the 52 Denier GSP is available in a range of colours. All of which are, wait for it, colourfast! Yes, unlike other brands who have tried colours in GSP and delivered nothing but disappointment, the Fly Smith has created a GSP that keeps its colour, in the thread and not all over your hands and tools. That means, it doesn't fade in the sun or wash out when it gets wet either. As any good fly tying thread should do, of course!
